# Image Styles and Settings

> Style presets, aspect ratios, quality settings, and other image generation controls in ZeroTwo Studio.

ZeroTwo's image Studio gives you precise control over how your images are generated. This page covers every available setting — from style presets to quality options.

## Style presets

Style presets add visual guidance to your prompt, biasing the model toward a particular aesthetic without requiring you to describe it in detail. Select a preset from the style dropdown before generating.

| Style preset       | Description                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Photorealistic** | High-detail images that look like real-world photographs. Best for product shots, portraits, nature, and architectural imagery. |
| **Illustration** | Artistic drawn style with visible line work and flat or semi-flat coloring. Good for editorial, book, or concept art. |
| **Anime / Manga** | Japanese animation style with characteristic cel shading, expressive features, and vibrant colors. |
| **Oil Painting** | Textured, painterly look with visible brush strokes and rich, layered colors reminiscent of traditional oil on canvas. |
| **Watercolor** | Soft, translucent washes of color with natural bleed effects. Works well for landscapes, portraits, and botanical subjects. |
| **Digital Art** | Vibrant, high-saturation graphic style common in concept art and game design. Clean lines with polished finish. |
| **Sketch** | Pencil or charcoal drawing aesthetic — loose line work, crosshatching, and a hand-drawn feel. |
| **3D Render** | Computer-generated 3D look with clean geometry, smooth shading, and precise lighting typical of CGI. |

Additional styles may be available in the style selector depending on the model selected — check the dropdown for the full current list.

<Tip>
  Style presets work best when combined with a strong descriptive prompt. For example, "Watercolor" preset + "cherry blossom trees along a canal in Kyoto, soft morning light" will produce a more refined result than either element alone.

## Aspect ratios

Choose the aspect ratio before generating. The ratio controls the shape of the output image and should match the intended use.

| Ratio                | Example dimensions | Best for                                                             |
| -------------------- | ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **1:1 (Square)** | 1024×1024 | Social media posts, profile pictures, product images, Instagram grid |
| **16:9 (Landscape)** | 1792×1024          | Blog headers, presentations, YouTube thumbnails, desktop wallpapers  |
| **9:16 (Portrait)** | 1024×1792 | Mobile wallpapers, Instagram Stories, TikTok content, vertical ads |
| **Other ratios** | Model-dependent | Custom needs — available options depend on the selected model |

<Info>
  Exact output dimensions depend on the selected model. The ratios above are consistent; the precise pixel resolution may vary by model and quality setting.

## Number of images

Generate 1 to 4 images per prompt. The exact range depends on the selected model — some models support up to 4, others are limited to 1 or 2.

**Why generate multiple images?**

Even with identical prompt text, AI image models produce meaningfully different outputs each time. Generating 4 variations at once lets you:

* Compare different compositional interpretations
* Find the best face/subject rendering
* Explore color palette variations
* Pick the closest match to your vision without running multiple separate generations

Generating multiple images counts against your plan quota proportionally (e.g., 4 images = 4 generation credits).

## Quality settings

Some models offer quality tier options — typically **Standard** and **HD** (or equivalent naming).

| Quality tier | Generation time | Output detail | Quota cost |
| ------------- | ---------------------- | ------------------------------- | ------------------ |
| **Standard**  | Faster (5–15 seconds)  | Good overall quality            | 1 credit           |
| **HD / High** | Slower (20–60 seconds) | More fine detail, sharper edges | Higher credit cost |

HD quality is most valuable for:

* Large-format prints or marketing assets
* Images where fine detail is important (faces, text, textures)
* Final production output (after iterating in Standard)

<Tip>
  Use Standard quality during iteration and exploration — it's faster and uses fewer credits. Switch to HD only when you've settled on a prompt and composition you want to finalize.

## Combining settings for best results

The most effective approach is to combine a strong prompt with deliberate settings choices:

1. **Start with a clear, detailed prompt** — subject, style, composition, lighting
2. **Add a style preset** that reinforces the aesthetic direction
3. **Set the aspect ratio** to match your intended use
4. **Generate 4 variations** to find the best interpretation
5. **Use Standard quality** during exploration; switch to HD for final output

**Example workflow:**

* Prompt: `A close-up portrait of a woman with natural curly hair, golden hour backlight, warm tones, shallow depth of field`
* Style preset: Photorealistic
* Aspect ratio: Portrait (9:16)
* Number of images: 4
* Quality: Standard

After reviewing the 4 results, pick the best and regenerate that same prompt in HD with minor prompt adjustments if needed.
